Privacy & Personal Data Protection Policy
FJMRI is dedicated to safeguarding the personal data, intellectual property, and privacy of all authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and website visitors.
This Privacy Policy describes how the Frontier Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Innovation (FJMRI) collects, processes, stores, and protects personal data provided through our website, author submission system, and editorial management workflows.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only information necessary to conduct legitimate scholarly publishing activities:
- Author & Submitter Information: Full name, institutional affiliation, department, physical mailing address, academic degree, email address, telephone contact number, and ORCID identifier.
- Peer Reviewer Information: Academic CV, institutional profile, areas of disciplinary expertise, review history, and conflict of interest disclosures.
- Manuscript Data: Titles, abstracts, full text files, raw datasets, co-author lists, and editorial correspondence.
- Technical Website Data: IP addresses, browser types, operating systems, referring URLs, and session access timestamps collected via server logs.
2. How We Use Personal Information
Personal data is processed strictly for legitimate scientific publishing purposes:
- Facilitating the double-blind peer review and editorial evaluation process.
- Communicating with corresponding authors regarding submission status, proofs, and decisions.
- Minting persistent DOIs via Zenodo and distributing publication metadata to academic discovery engines (e.g., Google Scholar).
- Issuing signed official Acceptance Letters and Author Publication Certificates.
- Ensuring research integrity and preventing duplicate submissions or scientific malpractice.
3. Data Sharing with Scholarly Third Parties
To fulfill scholarly publishing obligations, certain limited data elements are shared with vetted partners:
- DOI & Repository Services (Zenodo / CERN): Author names, affiliations, article titles, abstracts, and full-text files for permanent open-access archiving and citation linking.
- Plagiarism Screening Services: Manuscript files processed via similarity detection tools for ethical screening.
- Payment Gateways: Secure, encrypted billing details processed directly by PCI-DSS compliant financial gateways for Article Processing Charges. The journal never stores raw credit card numbers.
4. Author Rights Under GDPR & Global Privacy Laws
Regardless of your geographical location, you maintain full control over your personal data:
- Right of Access: You may request a complete export of your personal information held in our database.
- Right of Rectification: You may correct inaccurate or outdated profile details directly via your dashboard.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to Be Forgotten"): You may request the deletion of inactive user accounts. Note: Published scholarly articles and registered persistent DOIs cannot be erased, as they form part of the permanent historical scholarly record.
5. Data Retention & Security Measures
User account details are retained as long as the account remains active. All transmissions are encrypted using industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption protocols. Access to editorial files is restricted through multi-tiered role-based authentication.
