01. Gold Open Access Mandate
Frontier Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Innovation publishes strictly under the Gold Open Access publishing model. This means that every single article, review paper, case study, and technical communication is published online and made freely available immediately upon publication without embargo periods.
02. Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0)
All articles published by FJMRI are licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license represents the gold standard for scientific openness recommended by the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA) and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
Share & Distribute
Anyone is free to copy, redistribute, transmit, and exhibit the material in any medium or format, even for commercial purposes.
Adapt & Remix
Users may remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including developing software, models, or monographs.
Attribution Requirement: The user must give appropriate credit to the original authors, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Credit must include the article DOI and citation to FJMRI.
03. Author Copyright Retention
In contrast to traditional subscription journals that demand copyright transfer or assignment, authors publishing in FJMRI retain undivided copyright of their work.
- Non-Exclusive Rights: Authors grant FJMRI an irrevocable, non-exclusive license to publish, archive, index, and distribute the Version of Record.
- Moral Rights: Authors perpetually maintain all moral rights, including paternity right (right to be recognized as author) and integrity right.
- Reuse in Other Works: Authors may reuse portions, illustrations, data sets, or chapters in future monographs, dissertations, lecture notes, or anthologies without needing permission from the journal.
04. User & Reader Reuse Rights
Under CC BY 4.0, third parties do not need to request written permission from either the publisher or the authors to reproduce figures, quote extensive passages, or translate the text into other languages, provided clear scholarly attribution is preserved.
05. Self-Archiving & Institutional Repositories (Green OA)
FJMRI operates a 100% liberal, zero-embargo self-archiving policy:
Preprint (Submitted Version)
Authors may deposit the preprint on non-commercial preprint servers (e.g., arXiv, bioRxiv, Preprints.org) at any time.
Version of Record (Published PDF)
Authors may immediately deposit the publisher's final formatted PDF in any institutional or disciplinary repository without embargo.
06. Funder Mandates & Plan S Alignment
Our Open Access framework is fully compliant with global open-science mandates, including Plan S (cOAlition S), Horizon Europe, National Institutes of Health (NIH) public access policies, UKRI, and the Wellcome Trust open-access requirements.
