1. Manuscript Submission & Formatting
Submission requirements, supported formats (.DOCX), and template guidelines.
Q.What file format is required for manuscript submission?
FJMRI exclusively accepts Microsoft Word (.DOCX) format for primary submissions to enable automated guideline screening and double-blind anonymization. PDF or LaTeX submissions must be exported to .docx format before uploading.
Q.What are the core formatting and page limit rules?
Manuscripts must adhere to: single-column layout, Times New Roman typography, 1.0 line spacing, normal 2.54 cm margins, A4 portrait orientation, and a strict 30-page maximum limit. Theses and unformatted dissertations are screened out.
Q.How many co-authors are permitted per paper?
A maximum of 8 authors is permitted per article. All co-authors must have contributed significantly to the research conception, execution, or manuscript composition in accordance with ICMJE authorship standards.

2. Peer Review & Editorial Timelines
Double-blind review workflows and turnaround schedules.
Q.How long does initial desk screening take?
The initial desk screening and scope/plagiarism checks take 1 to 2 business days. Authors receive formal notice confirming whether the manuscript has passed pre-screening and proceeded to double-blind peer review.
Q.What is the final peer review decision turnaround?
Following technical screening, double-blind evaluation by at least 2 independent domain experts is completed, with the final editorial decision delivered within 4 to 5 days.
Q.What peer review model is practiced?
FJMRI enforces strict double-blind peer review. Referees do not know the identities or affiliations of the authors, and authors do not know the identities of the reviewing referees.

3. Article Processing Charges (APC) & Payment
Open access publishing fees, transparent pricing, and zero submission fees.
Q.Is there any submission fee?
No. FJMRI charges zero submission fees. Submitting a manuscript and undergoing full peer review is 100% free of charge.
Q.When is the publication charge paid?
The Article Processing Charge is payable strictly after formal acceptance of the manuscript. Invoices are generated only after the editor-in-chief signs off on the final review report.
Q.What are the standard charges?
Standard APC is ₹1,500 INR for Indian authors and $45 USD for international authors. This covers lifetime open access hosting, persistent DOI assignment, and digital certificates for all authors.
Q.Can I get a refund after my paper is published online?
No refunds are provided once an article is published online.
Because the Article Processing Charge (APC) immediately finances irreversible digital production and dissemination costs—including camera-ready typesetting, persistent Crossref DOI registration, JATS/Dublin Core XML generation, Google Scholar indexing, and long-term cloud archiving—the APC is strictly 100% non-refundable once published and assigned a DOI.
If an author formally requests manuscript withdrawal prior to final publication and DOI assignment, a partial refund minus administrative processing costs may be considered upon written editorial review.
Q.Does the journal offer fee waivers or developing country discounts?
Yes, fee waivers and discounts are evaluated on a case-by-case basis through mutual understanding.
Waivers and discounts are not automatic or guaranteed. Following international open-access equity benchmarks, each application is reviewed by the publishing office considering the author's country economic tier (guided by World Bank and Research4Life criteria), institutional backing, personal research funding situation, and the journal's annual waiver budget.
Authors seeking fee concessions must submit their request during initial submission via the Message to Editor field. Decisions are strictly confidential and firewalled from peer reviewers and handling editors.

4. Publication, Certificates & Proofs
Final proofs, camera-ready acceptance, and digital author certificates.
Q.How quickly is the paper published after payment?
Following receipt of payment and camera-ready confirmation, the manuscript is typeset and published live online within 1 to 2 business days.
Yes. High-resolution, digitally verifiable PDF publication certificates bearing the author's name, co-authors, paper title, volume, issue, and DOI are generated instantly for each contributor in the author workspace.

5. Indexing, Google Scholar & DOI
Scholarly indexing, metadata crawlers, and DOI persistence.
Q.How does Google Scholar index my paper?
FJMRI embeds Highwire Press and Dublin Core metadata tags on every article page. Google Scholar automated web crawlers harvest these tags, typically indexing published articles within 1 to 2 weeks of online appearance.
Q.What is a DOI and why is it important?
A Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is a permanent, persistent alphanumeric link that guarantees an article can be cited and located even if URL structures change. FJMRI assigns registered DOIs to all published articles.

6. Editorial & Reviewer Board
Board eligibility, duties, benefits, and application procedure.
Q.Who is eligible to apply for the Reviewer or Editorial Board?
Faculty members, professors, postdoctoral scholars, and researchers possessing a recognized Ph.D. or Master's degree with an active publication record in multidisciplinary sciences are invited to apply.
Q.What are the benefits of board membership?
Board members receive an official Certificate of Appointment, a public profile on the journal website, priority consideration for special issue editorships, and peer review verification recognition.
